Alye are used by men for huntig and fighting or to beat the rhythm to accompany singing. This is an individually hand crafted piece, made from locally and sustainably sourced mallee tree. This alye was carved and burnt by Clinton and painted by his sister Jane. This is a lovely light coloured timer is unusual for mallee which is usually a dark red which indicated this was sourced from a younger tree.
